Jan was born in Rhodesia (now called Zimbabwe) and grew up as a ‘free spirit’ in the low veldt.  From a young age she enjoyed crafts and went on to get a distinction in Art Crafts in her final year at school.

While living in South Africa with her husband Les and raising their two children, Jan completed and presented courses in numerous crafts and paint techniques, she now uses the different skills learnt to create her art, incorporating the use of different fabrics, textures and various mediums including paints, inks, acrylics, wax, dyes and other colourants.

Jan's current passions are quilting and encaustic art.    She took up encaustic art, painting with a craft iron and wax, on her arrival in Britain from South Africa three years ago and with her broad art and crafts knowledge and skills base is creating some amazing art.

Jan now lives in Cambridgeshire in England, a county that is of great inspiration to artists.
